Great for parents with lots of gear! Long trips and 1 trip portages! Stuffed to its fullest at 132L / 8046 cu.in, the Wabakimi was designed in response to customers who needed more room than a traditional canoe / portage pack. The internal frame ensures the weight is transferred to your hips, reducing pressure on your shoulders and back. Custom fit this pack with different frame size options, and interchangeable shoulder straps and hip belt.

Internal Frame Suspension System
Top-loading
Attached floating lid with built in zippered pocket
Snow cuff/spindrift collar (a drawstring top, under the lid)
4 compression straps down the sides and 3 compression straps over the snow cuff secure the load
Use the side compression straps and bottom pocket to cinch a saw or axe down the side
Daisy chains on front and lid to attach extra gear and removable options like the Ostrom Topper Fanny and the Tripper Day Pack / Front Pocket
4 reinforced, padded handles (each side at the top; top back; and bottom front) make lifting the pack out of the canoe easy
Materials and Construction
1000D Cordura Plus body and lid (very abrasion and puncture resistant)
Ballistics Cloth double bottom - tough as nails (inner layer is 1000 D Cordura Plus)
#10 YKK zippers (the best on the market)
EVA foam(high quality dense foam does not compress over time) and ether foam (soft and cushy) in shoulder straps
National Moulding buckles (toughest on the market)
Each seam is sewn 3 times for maximum toughness
All seams and raw edges are bound so the fabric wont fray over time
Suspension System Internal Frame
A rigid plastic framesheet / back panel (5 sizes) with 2 parallel aluminum stays (flat bars that are 1 wide and 1/8 thick, that run the length of the back panel)
Stays can be removed and bent to the shape of your back for a custom fit
S-shaped shoulder straps with chest strap (5 sizes); they are 3/4 thick, two layers with a dense EVA top layer that prevents the pack from digging into your shoulders
Soft padded hip belt (3 sizes)
Fleece lined tump line (so you can carry like a voyageur)
Stabilizer straps on shoulder straps and hip belt provide adjustment and pull the load closer to your back and hips so the pack moves with you.
The Wabakimi Canoe / Portage Pack comes in 3 different frame sizes determined by the length of your back. A frame that is too short will not transfer the load to your hips, resulting in a tired back. A frame that is too long will feel unbalanced. Our interchangeable shoulder straps and hip belt come in many sizes to ensure you get a pack that fits you perfectly
