More…Research & InnovationIn 1994, Bill Ostrom was the first to design a canoe/portage pack with an internal frame. An avid outdoorsman, he is constantly designing packs (and other gear) to travel in the outdoors more comfortably. He and Anne Ostrom are graduates of the Outdoor Recreation Program at Lakehead University (Thunder Bay) and get out to test packs as often as possible.Bill Ostrom originally designed our internal frame backpack suspension system for the Canadian Army. He worked closely with Queens University Clinical Mechanics Group (Kingston, Ontario) and continues to collaborate on a number of “load carriage” research projects. |
